Annual Holiday Tour of Homes
…flooded with magic!
(MINOT, ND) Start your holiday off right by visiting these beautiful homes! The Taube Museum of Art will be hosting their Annual Holiday Tour of Homes Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The effort to organize this year’s tour was complicated by Minot’s recent flooding, but it now proceeding, stronger than ever. “Many of the homes are housing other families or they’re storing household items, so it’s been a challenge this year,” said Nancy Walter, Executive Director of the Taube Museum of Art. Walter said that, despite their woes, residents have responded very positively to celebrations this year: “The people in Minot are looking for events to take their minds off of what’s happening in the city.”
There are more locations, and more diverse structures, participating in the tour than ever before. “We have five homes and two churches, which we have never featured before,” Walter stated. The two churches, the First Presbyterian Church and Saint Marks Lutheran Church, are even joined by structures that reflect the aftermath of the flood. A FEMA trailer will represent the presence of disaster relief, a recovered flood home, and Lincoln school will also play a role.
You are invited to join us at the Taube Museum of Art for desserts, cider, coffee, live music, Bead Unique Jewelry Showcase, door prizes, and local and regional artwork. The destinations on this year’s Tour are:
