Full Circle is a collection of paintings from previous art exhibitions, but mostly from this past year’s work in preparation for the Minot exhibition. She is very privileged to be able to bring home some of Australian lifestyle to her much loved hometown. She paints in oils mostly and likes the freedom that she can 'change her mind' if something doesn't work, but still loves the sensitivity of watercolors. She likes to 'build up' her paintings with series of washes and a lot of her inspirations come from around her home area, the local beaches, parks and grandkids.

While in Minot she attended Bishop Ryan and graduated from Minot High in 1969. After attending Minot State College she left to travel to Glasgow Scotland with her mother after losing her father to cancer. After a year in Glasgow, Jan was accepted to the City and Guilds Of Kennington Art School in London, England and received a Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Lettering and Printmaking. After graduation she relocated to Syndey, Australia and has lived there for the past 30 years.

In Sydney Jan worked in the advertising world as a finished artist in various companies and the University of Technology in Sydney. She then accepted a position with The Campaign Palace, a top advertising agency creating new business campaigns, and was there for ten years. She retired early to take care of her mother, and it was at that time she took up painting again full time.

Lower Gallery will feature works by Scott Nelson, North Dakotans in World War II Aviation. The reception for this exhibition will be held on November 10th from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm to promote Veteran’s Day. Scott will also be in attendance for the reception.

For viewing opportunities please visit during normal business hours: Tues. - Thur. 10:30 am - 5:30 pm, Sat. 11:00 am - 4:00 pm or by special appointment. Contributions are accepted to help the Taube Museum fulfill their mission of enriching lives through the visual arts.
