(Minot, ND) After a rough start to the summer exhibition schedule and interruption of programming, the Taube Museum of Art is back on track with their exhibition schedule. The Unapologetic Landscape by Chuck Kimmerle will be in the Main Gallery with the re-scheduled fourth annual Small Works Exhibit & Auction, in the Lower Gallery.

The Unapologetic Landscape is a study and exploration of the quiet, reticent and unassuming landscape of the northern plains. Kimmerle’s style is, in accordance with the land, intentionally straightforward and formal. His choice of black and white photography was made to emphasize shape and texture, giving viewers a glimpse beyond the expected color palette of this agriculturally-dominated area. He has been a photographer since graduating from St. Cloud State University in 1987 with a B.S. degree in Photographic Engineering Technology. He recently relocated to Wyoming, where he currently freelances as an educational and corporate photographer.

The Small Works Exhibition and Auction is a collection of works no larger than 80 square inches from primarily North Dakota artists. “Because of the continued interest in small works of art the Taube Museum is pleased to continue the exhibition for a fourth year”, states executive Director, Nancy Walter. The Small Works will also be posted online at www.taubemuseum.org with the ability for online visitors to place bids by email or phone after August 20th.

Exhibit dates are August 16 – September 16, 2011. The artist reception will be held in conjunction with our Annual Summer BBQ, Thursday evening, August 18th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.

A portion of the auction proceeds will support the Taube Museum of Art, a non-profit organization. There is no charge for admission, but contributions are accepted to help the Taube Museum fulfill their mission of enriching lives through the visual arts. Please call Nancy F. Walter, Executive Director at the Taube Museum of Art at 838-4445 for further information
